MeiLi Smith is a California/Colorado-based documentary and commercial filmmaker and video editor. Her work illuminates the complexities of today’s pressing social issues through an empathetic lens, and has led her to document the stories of incarcerated people within Colorado’s prison system, missionaries in Calcutta, and those affected by the opioid epidemic in North Dakota. Between projects, she continues her impressive streak of eating tacos in bed without spilling any shredded cheese.
